The Harlem Superstars will invade Mountaineer Country to take on the Madison All-Stars Jan. 31 in basketball action in Wetsel Middle School’s gym.
The Superstars are led by 7-foot sensation Ricky Lopes, Kevin “Showboat” Jackson and the high flying basketball comedian Chris “Chicken” Turnquist. The Superstars are a group of former college and professional players who put a comedic spin on the game of basketball. Their brand of basketball includes showtime dunks, the Chicken Dance, “razzmatazz” passing, exciting tricks and plenty of fan interaction including an interactive halftime show. This will be a great fun night out for the entire family especially small kids.
The Superstars will be facing the likes of Madison hardwood stars Jeff “Never” Early, Michael “the Legend” Styles, Ben “Baller” Breeden, Juan “the Jumper” Brown, Brian “Bullett” Rhem, Jeff “Jamming” Tilbe and Drew “Deadeye” Eanes, among others.
Pre-sale tickets are $7 and are $9 at the door. Proceeds from the game go to benefit the Madison County High School boys basketball team.
“We wanted to bring something different to Madison — a night where the community and families could come out and laugh and enjoy the show a great show,” said Madison Boys Basketball Coach Tim Taylor.
The basketball team is trying to sell at least 500 tickets. Businesses can donate various amounts to send youngsters to the game as well.
For information, contact Tim Taylor at (434) 981-6664 or Phil Warren at (540) 948-3789.
You can get your tickets at MCHS, the Mountaineer Cafe, as well as at Madison youth sports games and the boys basketball games.
“Come out and support the Madison All-Stars and the boys basketball team on Jan. 31,” urged Coach Taylor.
