You know I am really appalled on how people are slamming Obama and McCain, but especially Obama. I can’t believe the folks who actually wrote and submitted letters to the editor of the paper.
My first question to all of you would be, do you personally know these candidates? Were you there when the events that you wrote of took place? If not, then what you wrote of is hearsay, not factual. I don’t care if you are Republican or Democratic, every person has a past and every person has the ability to change.
To go writing information in the paper about someone you have no contact with or know on a personal level is absolutely ludicrous. Yes, we all have opinions, but let’s not print our opinions and get caught up in the politics so much that we lose sight of the fact that these people are human beings, they have children and family members throughout the country.
How would you like the information that may or may not be true printed in black and white for your children and family to read? Do you not care about how the children or family members feel when they hear this or read it?
Whether Democrat or Republican, each state their facts about their candidates on their ability for the job and somewhere in the middle is the truth. Their personal life outside of their job has nothing to do with their performance in their position. For example: Just because you hang out with a drunk, it doesn’t make you a drunk. You could be a person who doesn’t drink and is trying to help someone stop. Don’t believe everything you hear and only believe half of what you may see. Looks can be deceiving.
Let’s have a little more compassion and respect for our fellow people, regardless of their race, religion, status or sex.
You know, we all have faults and none of us are perfect! If you are without fault and haven’t done anything wrong in life, then by gosh, you need to be the one running for President.
