MCHS student shares thoughts on Constitution

Written in 1787 and ratified in 1788, the United States Constitution is one of the most influential documents in the history of our country. In what was originally a meeting to revise the “Articles of Confederation,” our founding fathers painstakingly crafted this new document in secret one summer, closed up tight in the Philadelphia statehouse. They created a living document; a supreme law that would change with the times and the people.

Big family tailgate party Friday

Friday’s Madison County-Page County football game caps Madison County High School’s annual homecoming celebration.This year, something new is being added to the mix—a 5:30 p.m. pre-game community family tailgate party. Families are encouraged to bring grills and related picnic items to the back (south) parking lot of MCHS and tailgate.

Hanna drenches Madison

UPDATE—MADISON ROAD CLOSINGS ANNOUNCED
Tropical Storm Hanna cruised toward the Carolinas on Friday, forecast to hit land overnight and promising to deliver gusty winds and heavy rain during a dash up the Eastern Seaboard that could wash out the weekend for millions of people. Hanna will likely send plenty of rain to the Madison County area, according to weather reports.
