By now, all of us have heard or read how much the financial crisis has affected every part of our lives. We try to stretch what little income we have to meet daily expenditures and cover the big items such rent or mortgage payments, while hoping often in vain that something will be left over to spend on the upcoming holiday season.
One way to succeed would be your neighborhood thrift shop and Madison has just such a place. Mission Charity Store, located just off U.S. 29 (behind Eddins Ford) has a large inventory of Christmas gift items. As a matter of fact, they will be opening a new section this Saturday, Dec. 6, featuring completely un-used items all suitable for Christmas — including decorations. They will also have a store-wide sale on used merchandise.
Store hours on Saturday are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Just like us, Mission Charity is going through hard times. Maybe by patronizing the store everyone could benefit.
