Editor:
We would like to share a happy ending about our girl Tess with the editor, as well as with the caring residents of Madison County. The Lord does hear our prayers and answers them.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, I received a call from a kind lady on Elly Ford Road — she said Tess might be at her neighborss’ house. I drove over there and of course it wasn’t Tess.
However when I got home there was a message on my voicemail from Colin Mallory, who has the farm behind Malvern on Carpenters Mill Road. His message was that he had found Tess in his field curled up in a ditch and ready to die.
I immediately called him; he told me he did not know if she would be alive when I got there. Mr. Mallory was waiting for me. He had indeed found our beloved Tess.
His cattle had started to bellow, so he thought they were hungry and took some hay down to feed them. He found Tess sprawled out in a ditch ready to die; he took her to his barm and put some water and food beside her.
We went to the barn and when he opened the door she took one look at me and came over with her tail wagging. Mr. Mallory put Tess in my car and I took her down to Dr. Beverly Young.
Tess had ticks all over, briars stuck to her ears, a rope burn on her back leg, sores all over her. Her toenails were even worn down almost to the quick. She weighed 42 pounds, which meant she had lost 19 pounds in five weeks.
She is home with us and on the way to recovery.
We would like everyone to know how much their concern and prayers has meant to us we send our deep heartfelt thank you to the editor of The Madison County Eagle for printing our letter and for the many people who voiced their concern for Tess.
Again thank you to everyone.
