Andrew Wynham, candidate for Madison County Clerk of the Court, received an endorsement by the Madison County Republican Committee at the March 24 Republican Mass Meeting.
He’s been a Republican all his life. He’s been elected as a Republican for public office.
Wynham, a Madison county native and Air Force veteran, first ran for elected office in southern New Mexico where he had been stationed. He ran as a reformer and defeated an entrenched Democrat incumbent, in a stunning upset which helped to jump start the local Republican Party.
Unlike surrounding counties, candidates running for local office in Madison do not generally acknowledge their party affiliation. Wynham, a well-spoken advocate for conservative principles, said party politics will not play a role in his position as Clerk if he is elected to serve the people of Madison County.
Wynham served as clerk of the court, or court clerk as it’s called in New Mexico. He also served the citizens in a host of other capacities, including: clerk of the Probate Court, recorder of deeds, city commissioner, chief deputy clerk for Elections, county manager and municipal judge.
During his term in office as clerk, Wynham reduced the budget for three years running. He introduced improvements that saved taxpayers’ money and also increased customer service and satisfaction.
The election for Madison County Clerk of the Court will take place on April 7. Andrew Wynham will be listed as an Independent on the ballot, due to state regulations for this special election.
Experience-wise, I think he’s got a real good background. He’s got more hands-on experience than the other two candidates. Andrew Wynham is a hard worker who I can endorse without reservation.
