Lost Valley woman appreciates squad

Editor:

This is just a heart-felt thanks for the Madison County Rescue Squad and EMS, which offered helpful assistance on April 17 when I hurt my back. Its day crew, Cindy and Ryan, were personable, yet professional, capable and compassionate.

Both of these paid professional squad day crew members are also volunteers in their own counties. Cindy is a volunteer captain/paramedic in Charlottesville and Ryan volunteers for the Greene County Rescue Squad.

They clearly love their work and do it well. They graciously come to our beloved Madison to work in a vital capacity for our people. I, for one, am deeply grateful.

I encourage all residents to volunteer and/or support community organizations that help us, through volunteer hours, in-kind donations and/or with hard earned money. This is how community works!

If you are able to mail money to the squad, the address is Madison County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 898, Madison, VA 22727.
I have profound gratitude for both the paid and volunteer rescue workers.
