On Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, the Madison County varsity baseball team will host Baseball Night – a ballpark-theme supper, followed by a guest speaker.

They are privileged to have Richard Verlander come speak to the baseball players and families in Madison. His son, Justin, just won the American League Cy Young and MVP awards for 2011. The Verlanders are from Goochland County and what is so exciting about Justin’s career is that he made it to the Major Leagues from a single-A school in a small town – very similar to Madison.

Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child (12 years or younger).
